I used to be able to copy/paste numbers into the dialer app. With iOS 7, this feature is no longer present. What happened?
Being able to paste phone numbers into dialer is EXTREMELY useful.

It appears to be gone. Yes I will miss it
But you can still tap on a number and a pop up gives you the option to call the number or cancel
Partially true: it doesn't always work in some PDFs and excel format documents. Being able to copy and paste into dialer was a simple, yet powerful, way to accomplish that task when iOS didn't "recognize" a phone number.
Press and hold the white space where the phone number shows up when dialing, after a short delay a paste option appears.
Typing a single character also works, then paste the number in. It appears to overide the previously typed number.
Is there a way to paste a number into the dialer if on a call. I used to use this all the time for conferance bridges for the conferance id or conferance password, which are long and sent via calendar invites.
Brackintosh did not answer my question. When using long distance services, you make a call, then paste in the long international number. I can't seem to do this in iOS 7 either.

I can initiate by typing a number on the iPhone keypad and then pressing and holding to paste but I can't edit the pasted text to remove the unwanted numbers - e.g. leading zero or brackets.
Yep. This works! Perfect as I had the same question and really need this functionality.
