iTunes 11.1 How to stop automatically playing next podcast

Hi, I'd like to prevent iTunes from auto-playing another podcast after one finishes on the desktop version of iTunes. I can't find a setting option to turn that off. Thanks

Yes, this was something I liked before that they broke. Plus, it plays newest to oldest. If you're going to force me to listen to the next podcast, at least do it oldest to newest!

While I too prefer the List view, from a little bit of playing around I have found if you use the "My Podcasts" view and change the settings appropriately that you can play the podcasts in order of oldest first and also if you select "Keep All Unplayed" then it will not show the items in the cloud - just the ones you have downloaded and actually want to listen to.

You can select a podcast at any point in the displayed list - so i.e. play the ones you want - noting that when you do this, because Apple have no provided an option to Not Autoplay, that your podcasts will then keep playing in date order (ie. it does not go back to the top of the list).

I found in list view that if I played the one at the bottom (oldest) that when this finished it then went and started to play the first episode on the list of all podcasts - another design change that does not make sense to me at all. (For me this jumped from an audio podcast to a video podcast which was not an issue on my iMac but would not be as useful if I was bluetooth streaming in my car).

It seems like Apple have decided to "merge" the podcast look in iOS7 and OSX so who knows what other exciting changes are in store once Mavericks ships.

The "shuffle" trick doesn't seem to work for me. It still keeps playing - but with "shuffle" enabled, it plays a random other podcast instead of the next one in the list.

I still haven't found how to just play one podcast and then stop (like it always used to do).

The workaround I've been using the past few days is to create a playlist with just one podcast in it, but that's annoying and an extra step.

In my iMac's iTunes 11.1: I have a smart playlist with "Media Kind = Podcast". If I set the playlist to shuffle, it stops playing after one track. (The smart playlist also has "Plays = 0", although that shouldn't matter.) This has been the case for quite a while for me: maybe since iTunes 11.0 came out?

Ironically, I've long considered this a bug. It hadn't occurred to me to deliberately play it this way.
