if I have a Midi file imported into garage band, how do I take the score from the garage band file and turn it into sheet music (so real instruments can play the tune)? thanks!

You need an application to create midi files from the scanned sheet music, for example "Smart Score Lite", that comes with Finale 2014.
After you have created a midi file from your sheet music, you can drag it into the Track area of GarageBand and use it with the various software instruments.
