View appointment title in month-view

The previous online iCal showed the title of each appointment in month-view... now all I can see are three dots: ... so I can't see what the appointment is unless I open it... I keep the month cal in the background all the time.. but now it's useless. Has anyone else found this? And is there a way round it?
