HELP! - iPod Volvo adaptor

Hi, I have just joined.
I have just purchased a Volvo car with an iPod adaptor.
The adaptor only reconizes :-
3rd Gen Ver 2.3 : 4th Gen Ver 3.0.2 : iPod photo Ver 1.0 - iPod mini Ver 1.3.
My newly purchased iPod 30 has firmware 1.1.1.
What can I do to make the adaptor reconize my iPod?
Will it work if I download 1.0, if so where can I find it.

I have an I Pod adapter for my Vovlo S 70. The mini which I had worked fine. But when I got a new 30GB I Pod, problems began. It will work fine until I turn the car off, then the I pod doesn't recognize that it is connected until it is unplugged and then plugged back in. AT this point I have to start all over with songs and tracks,etc. I see that many have this same problem. Does anyone know the solution? I asked my Volvo dealer and they were mystified.

I have had the same issue in my Volvo XC70.

I figured out that the problem occured when I had anything synching....so, I turned off all synching...music, podcasts, etc...it worked wonderfully for about a week, and then went back to the same old habit...every time I restart the car, I have to unplug the iPod and plug it back in...but I keep going back and making sure nothing is synching...maybe it will work again...

Hi,

after reading a lot in this and other sources, it seems to be clear that the connecting / reconnecting issue after an engine start is bound to the iPod, not to the connector or any special Volvo model. There are some other threads running on this item. Perhaps you will also check this one?
