Gary... the updated calendar *****... it's worth the money to buy Calenmob. It operates like the old calendar. There is a free version you can take for a test drive but I needed repeated dates and the free one does not give that to you.

Thanks for the tip. I see the better graphics in Calenmob but I gave serious issues being associated in any personal info way with Google. I'm synching BusyCal in the iMac but that app doesn't synch on the iPad.

I'd rather use a magnifying glass than give Google any more access to my personal info.

The suggestions about the accessibility tricks helped a bit.

Apple really should address this issue with a more manageable fix.

Note! When setting your font size in the General\Accessiblity setting, go to "larger type" and make it as LARGE as possible. Turn "Bold Text" to "On".

Then, important!, go back to General\Text Size and set it afterward! You will be able to make the text size larger, even if you had already set it before. Using the Acessibility feature for some reason makes the normal text setting go back to the middle setting.

Maybe most of you already know this. I found it helped me. Now some of the text on the phone is almost too large. That's fine for me.

I started a petition on to ask Apple to make Ios 7 more visually impaired friendly.  Obviously, they don't pay attention to Feedback.  Anyone know any visually impaired celebrities that might bring more attention to this issue?  Maybe then someone at Apple will listen.  Ios 7 is definitely a step backward in regards to visual accessibility!

Steve Wynn and Miss World, April Lufriu,  have RP. Also, Kevin James has a sister with RP.

Thanks, that helped some.  The main problem is the light grey regular. Font.  What were they thinking ( or smoking)?

  • garygladstone Level 1 Level 1

It took civilization thousands of years to refine ways for the communications to be constructed with a contrasty enough medium (dyes and inks) for people to be able to read the thoughts of others. From scratches in dust to quick-drying solid black ink on white surfaces, we refined the technology to be able to create the iPhone and iPad. Great!  Then we  fine-tune these reading marvels with the elegance of pale grey ultra thin fonts laid on other grey or white surfaces. (Even the '50's, black and white TV's had a contrast knob).

Making something too elegant to use is a pretty dumb idea.

Maybe the real problem is they weren't smoking enough. These new designers and developers seem to have a very limited world view.

Send them all to Colorado.  Maybe that will get their creative juices flowing again.  Anywho, I sure would like to to be able pick my own global font.  I was never a big fan of Arial or Helvetica.  Personaly, I prefer Heiti SC.  Now there's a font I can snuggle up with.

Well, don't you know that small type is very cool, hip, and makes the interface look roomier. And, since the target maket is the young, what older people say about the iPhone doesn't carry any more weight than a bucket of ping-pong balls.

What I found was that even though I could get some of the fonts to go larger, not all would, so it's back to reading glasses and fumbling around for many iPhone things. But the phone contacts do go larger, which is something.

Next time you go into an Apple store, tell'em you were buying Macs in 1992, when the headlines predicted the end of Apple. Watch their eyes glaze over.

  • Rikic Level 1 Level 1

I will stop in at the apple store and tell them I'm going to be buying an Android!

Too little care is given to users preferences: apple knows best is their motto - I don't think they give a hoot.  They are too busy fighting with google.

Seems Apple is the new Microsoft.  Makes me want to through 9 pound hammers around the room.

Just upgraded my ipad to ios7 and really wish I had not. The calendar is now practically useless since I can barely make out the text, there is not enough contrast. I enlarged and bolded the font in settings but it makes no change to the events. It would also be a nice thing to add a color bar or something to show the month breaks as you scroll through the calendar.

And I miss the bar along the bottom that let you pick a specific month, much easier to jump around by month, or even year to check a date. And why can't I view a month, tap a day, then choose Week or Day and have that specific day or week open? It seems to choose a day at random and I have to scroll around to find that day, which is pretty darned difficult do to the lousy interface.

Really wish I had stuck with ios6, I use the calendar a lot, will probably have to download another app to replace this bad one. Remember, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Me too, I hate the visual appearance of everything on iPhone 5s. I much prefer the iPhone 4 screen design and colors. The invert color option on iPhone 5s is a joke and not usable. The zoom option is terrible. I agree with everything the other reviewers said. Really disappointing that these phones have not been beta tested.

I agree with one of the reviewers that there should be a choice of new view or classic view unless Apple really wants to lose more customers.

    Hello Gents,

    Does Apple read these complaints???

I have same problem too and I'm now thinking to change my phone because this, It's really difficult to use due this white bright background on keyboard(even turning down contrast), and really thin letters, is not helpping me...

I love my phone, but I'm start thinking to change it to an Android phone because keyboard is better (dark baground, with bold letters)...

IO6 was so easy to use, and so clear. now this new interface is so usseless for me...

and like others, inverting colors back and forth is not a choice (unless it's only for the keyboard...)

Please Apple listen to us! do not ignore us....
