Why is my iphone extremely slow after upgrading to IOS7?

I just upgraded and am so sad I did. The graphics are terrible. They're not aesthetically pleasing at all. But my main issue is that everything is suddenly extremely slow. The keyboard lags behind every letter I type, so now I have to type very slowly. Web pages and apps no longer load as quickly. My battery has also drained 20% in the past 20 minutes from viewing web pages with text, no video. Does anyone know why this is happening and is there anything that can be done to fix it? My iphone is my computer and as is this just isn't going to work for me. It's not functional. I need to either revert back to the old IOS6 which actually worked fine or sell this thing and get a Droid because now it is so frustrating to use.
