Telstra iMessage Activation Problem Status

Thought I'd start a specifc topic relating to iPhones on the Telstra network that can't get iMessage and Facetime activated as the original thread is also dealing with other iMessage issues unrelated to Telstra.

To summarise,

New iPhone5x and old phones updated to ios7 that needed to be activated for iMessage seems to be having problems registering their mobile number with Apple's iMessage (and Facetime) servers. Some people have got iMessage working with their Apple ID, but that isn't the problem, it's having their carrier number activated with iMessage.


If you have success with your Telstra phone please let us know on this discussion so we can check to see if ours is also working.

Updated iPhone 4 to iOS 7 however iMessage and FaceTime refuse to activate on my phone number with Telstra. Both iMessage and FaceTime work off my Apple ID though. FYI iMessage when toggled says an error has occurred and try again but still does not activate. Tried resetting network setting, removing sim and several reboots to no avail....have not yet tried restoring.
