Q: Find my friends app

Problems with find my friends on the iPhone or iPad is that it does not locate since they I SO7 upgrade, I have reset all settings and make sure the notified is set on right now. I have found that if your friend and you open the app at the same time then it will locate , but as soon as one of you closes the app it will only give you the Old location, I have made sure that all settings are correct and think that this needs to be reviewed by Apple for a bug fix.

    I found this post after losing secondary iCloud account support for multiple device "Find my iPhone." We used a secondary iCloud account to locate the entire family's iDevices in one place, and Apple removed that functionality in iOS7. Someone suggested using Find my Friends, which seems like a reasonable alternative, but I'm having hte same problem you describe. Before iOS7, were you able to locate devices that were not open to the app? If so, I hope Apple decides to fix this.

    I have even tried to leave one device with the app running in the background but when it goes to sleep and locks screen the same problem occurs , only the last location shows, I find this a great app to track family I hope there's a fix soon

    But did it work for you prior to iOS7? I am curious as to whether this is an iOS7 bug that can be fixed, or whether Apple intends this behavior.

    Yes it worked fine prior to this , I still have one family member that hasn't upgraded to ISO 7 yet and it shows location straight away

    I can confirm this behavior. Find my Friends will locate any of my devices that is NOT running iOS7, even if the app is not running, and the phone is asleep.

     

    Apple, please fix this.
