Can I charge my iPhone that is newly updated with iOS 7 with a car charger and a lightning cable? I keep hearing that you can't use outside charging devices besides Apple but Apple doesn't make car chargers for iPhone 5

Yes, you can use a third-party cable for the car charger. Where people run into some problems is in using third-party, very cheap chargers...some of the chargers are not giving the right voltage/current and can be a problem. But with the cable for charging that is not an issue. Especially if you buy one from Apple since they will have tested the product to see that it functions correctly.

Yes, you can use third-party charging devices such as a car charge cable. Just go to the Apple on-line store, the Store button left side of this window's menu bar, or go to an Apple retail store and you will find car charging cables. Just bought one Wednesday at my local Apple store.
I bought my car charger from Amazon, although I do use an actual Apple lightening cable with it (I bought a spare cable for travel when I bought my iPhone - Apple lightening cables can be bought individually from Apple, BestBuy, Walmart and other Apple resellers).
The only time I have heard of third-party charger problems, the charger was a cheap knock off that was not providing the orrect power. The iOS really does not know anything about the charger, all the device knows is whether or not the power, voltage and current, is correct. As long as you have a quality charger you should meet that requirement.

Then take it back to Target. And you'r not talking to Apple here. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.
And to be honest, all I use is a 12V adaptor, that converts the 'cigarette lighter' to a standard two prong outlet. Which means that I can use any normal charger, period. It also has a USB slot, so whether my cable is a USB cable or not, I can plug in and charge my devices.
Even with the iOS 7 update...and no I didn't buy my charger at Apple..I heard with the new iOS 7 there are charging problems with third party chargers. BUT my question is will a third party charger WITH an Apple lightning cable work on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7... Sorry if I wasn't explaining my self

So...just to be sure..you CAN use third party car chargers that have the Apple lightning cable? I don't wanna screw up my iPhone 5 but Apple doesn't make car chargers!!
