can't update says not connected to internet

None of these helped me either not even the "trust me" one and I am most definitely connected to the internet and have full charge on the iPad.

To delete the update, redownload it, and install the update:

Go to "Settings"

Go to "General"

Go to "Storage & iCloud Usage"

Under "Storage" or "iCloud" click on "Manage Storage"

Click the name of the update you have downloaded (I.e. "10.2.1")

Click the red letters that say "Delete..."

Then, go to "Settings" - "General" - "Software Update" - "Download and Install"

Of all of the previously mentioned strategies, this is the one that worked for me on my iPhone 6. Thanks everyone.

I was having the same issues and in reading all these posts, the above is what worked for me. It looked like I had an older version downloaded and it wouldn't run but once I deleted it as per these instructions, downloaded the current version, it ran no problem. Other than taking forever to actually install, but that's typical lol. Thanks for the help.

I have two iphones - the other one updates fine. Both access Safari, facebook and others fine. It is an issue specific to the device. It is also having issues with my msn.com email stating it cant verify server identity.

I had this problem with my iPhone. Here's what worked for me. I deleted the update my clicking on settings and then general, select storage and iCloud usage, click on manage storage and wait for the list to be populated, scroll to update which will be your current IOS version click it and delete it. Go back and try to update again.

GOT IT WORKING I have had that error message for past 6-weeks cannot verify not connected to the internet and I finally

tried using iTunes this evening and in ITunes I typed in the search window update my Iphone SE and iTunes did everything

from there it gave me the choice of connecting wired to my in this case to a MacBook Pro or connecting to iTunes wireless

I chose "Wired just because I was already wired to my Mac and it downloaded the latest OS again and then installed it with no problems at all it did ask a few questions while installing but was installed perfectly oh ya it suggested updating iTunes first which I did, good luck I think you will be very Happy,.TR

I have this same issue and error message, however I am able to stream video, music, get emails, and browse the web with Safari and Chrome. I have tried:

• A hard reset by holding down the power button and home button at the same time
• Resetting the network settings
• Having a charge over 50%
• Being connected to a power source
• Even tried to update through iTunes (v. 11.1)

Nothing has worked for this issue. The update through iTunes had my iPad stuck in recovery mode, which I had to use a third party software to fix that issue. I am not sure if I might be overlooking something or if Apple needs to release some type of fix for this issue.

It might be ur router even u see lights is on but doesnt mean its working,just unplug both cables from ur router ...power and internet and plug back on after 15 sec this refresh ur router and then check updating .

I have tried refreshing the router, in addition I ensured all apps where closed by swiping up and hitting the red buttons next to all the apps. I still get the error message.

yep, Im getting the same message & I too am most definitly connected to internet!

I was having the same issue. I turned mine off (hold sleep/wake button down on top until red slider comes on, slide to off, then hold the button down again until the Apple appears). I went back to setting and it is updating fine now.

I have tried the same, but its showing the same msg now.

Disable the Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer temporarily then run the update.

Its working.... 😀

this is an ipad I am talking about, not a computer! I dont have any anti virus stuff on it other than waht is there from start?
