Find my Friends doesn't work after IOS 7 update

We use find my friends for our entire family to monitor kids locations, etc. Since updating to IOS 7, one of the phones only shows it's location sporadically - otherwise says location not available.

Have verified location services are turned on, nothing is blocked, etc.

This phone was updated to IOS 7 over wifi (vs. through iTunes) - one other phone had some minor (unrelated) issues after updating over wifi that were resolved by doing a factory reset & updating from iTunes - wondering if that could be cause of the issue here as well. Anyone else encountering issues with FMF?

All, although the app has not been updated, mine magically started working the way it used to under iOS6 this evening. Meaning, I can see friends whether they are running the app currently or not.

Can anyone else test and see if they are achieving the same results?

Mine is also finding people with the app open and closed. Appears apple might have changed something.

Looks like mine has started working. Opened FMF and noticed my iPad was showing for the first time.

Location was showing updated now so I checked and the FMF app was NOT open. Seems they have fixed somehow

Same here, seems to be working again now. Sort of reminds me of the jokester in the original Airplane movie who unplugged the airport lights and everything went dark and then he plugged them back in after everyone freaked out just to get a good laugh. I hope he doesn't pull the plug again!

4 of our 5 phones are showing up in the app. The 5th is my son at college. Guessing he's either hiding or set something different from everyone else when he did the upgrade. Will have to contact him and go over the settings.

Interesting how this all happened without any update in the software.

Mine is suddenly working again as well. Someone did something to fix this on the back end in my opinion.

Case closed then, my own apps appear to be in sync even when the app is closed from the multitasking menu.

Weird, but cool.

Probably saw my bug fix request, and someone peaked at the server system, and noticed that some control was 'off' instead of 'on' in their system ;-)
