ios 7 zooming induces nausea + motion sickness

They went too far in the way it zoom in and out this time. I don't know if this is an error but it makes me so dizzy too. At the beginning I didn't believe it but after a few days I don't even want to use it. Do you think apple is going to fix stuff like this? Also the color white is too bright and no choices to change it.

I am glad it is not only me having this problem!!!!

Since the upgrade I can hardly use my ipad as all these zooming and animation give me severe nausea. I am contemplating the idea of getting rid of it.....as it is now I have lost any interest in using it........

Same problem here, I love iOS 7 design in general and the parallax is tolerable and can be turned off, but the zooming effect when you open/exit apps is horrendous. so sick of it, please give us an option to turn it off or at least tune it down.

Me too. I'd be fine with the kidsy color scheme if the contrast wasn't so harsh in apps like iMessage.

The zooms are especially terrible, and I can't believe Apple thought these would be a good idea. They give me a headache--nuts that a phone update should do make it through testing and do that to so many people!

Apple needs to allow for a dark color scheme and ditch the absurd animations or I'm for sure gone as a customer (plus three family members with iPhones and iPads).

A simple toggle to turn off the animations would be great. Back in 1995 , windows 95 had that setting, why it wasnt included in a 2013 operating system is beyond belief.

The moving text bubbles really play tricks with your eyes when scrolling the page up and down. They all move individually!

I've experienced nausea and motion sickness and headaches since last week when I installed IOS 7, all due to the apps zooming in and out animation.

I had zero problems with IOS 6.

I think the best thing to do is keep posting on different forums to raise awareness. I think there's some people who may feel a little of the nauseous and dizzy symptoms, but they're not sure what's causing it.

Also, everyone, please send a quick email to the Apple Accessibility Group. I believe this is the best way to get in touch with the folks at Apple who can best address this issue. It is as simple as an enable/disable animation option with the Accessiblity menu.

My ONLY solution this past week, is to look away or close my eyes when unlocking and opening/closing apps.

Yes, I get this issue too, glad to see other people raising it. I think it's the smoothness of the animation which tends to draw your eye along and induce a very mild feeling of nausea, it's similar to the feeling I get in the car when reading.

The fact that it delays the app opening/closing (when you just want it to open/close) only adds to the frustration.

Or you could go into settings and turn on reduce motion. But complaining is easier I guess.

reduce motion setting does nothing for the zooming animation when closing or opening an app, there is no setting to disable that, so yes complaining is easier

Interestingly enough, it was mentioned in the NY Times on September 24 in an article on the causes of motion sickness. The reference was not specifically about the iPhone, but about new theories on motion sickness, and gave iOS 7 as an example.
