iPhone 5 with iOS 7 randomly shuts off

Are any of you aware of iOS 7 randomly shutting down iPhones? Ever since I upgraded 2 day ago it has shut down at least 3 times. The battery was at about 18%, 20%, and 36% when it shut down. I don't believe it’s a bug with the battery percentage because it started back up as soon as hit the power button. Also, it is not due to overheating or anything else wrong with the environment. Nothing in the environment has changed except that I updated to iOS 7. Let me know if this occurs to anyone else and if there are any solutions pending?

Same problem here with Iphone 4S, and an ipad 3rd generation, but not with Iphone 4, nor with an ipad 4th generation, all running same IOS (all were updated on the same day).

Battery drained rapidly for the 4S as well (but the 4S was used heavily so could be due to battery usage as well), and it randomly switched off around 20%.

Changed the battery two weeks ago, that helped the battery drain , and since then haven't had a random reboot (yet). Keeping fingers crossed.

I'd spoken to apple support about it and told them that I'd done all the restore and backup and restore and testing from blank install.

This was a few days outside of default Applecare (of course) and had been happening for a few weeks before it expired.

Dying at daft times and magically charging instantly when plugged in

Bought a replacement battery but cannot take the screen off, just won't budge with a sucker, almost lost the teeny screws.

So will try the exhaust battery and full charge thing tonight.

very annoying, last night it was at 6% for hours, plugged it in at bedtime, straight to 33% stupid thing.

I've had this same issue since iOS 7 beta. Here is what I am experiencing:

Random shutdown regardless of where the battery is

One moment the battery is at X% and a minute later it will be 50% less

Take a photo at 40% battery and it shuts down. Restart it and battery is a little less. Take another photo and it shuts down. Try to restart it and it has no battery. Plug it in and suddenly it has 20-30% battery.

I give up. It's been months since this started and its frustrating.

Ok Guys, listen up.
my gf had this same problem which you all are experiencing. Since i learnt about the problem i have tried many things to try fix it.
I have tried something different this and it seems to be working (it hasnt turned off in 20 minutes and still hasnt) which is great.
follow these steps and tell me if they work for you...

restore your iphone, and restore it from a backup of someone elses working iphone 5. (I used my own)
change the battery percentage to on, and then switch it off again.

cheers.

Any updates on this? My phone has liquid damage only from some moisture while in the shower. (I know, d'oh!) But it's been working fine. Took it to the Apple store and they blamed this entire issue on the liquid damage, told me it would be a hefty price to replace phone and sent me on my way. Needless to say, I'm ticked but I guess I have no recourse. Anyway, any updates on this? I tried resetting, restoring, using the alt-method and installing 7.0.4 directly from downloaded file, nothing. While I am glad that this doesn't sound like an issue from my own liquid damage, I am still frustrated as my phone's battery percentage is always stuck unless I reboot, and restarts randomly. From what I read, I cannot revert to an earlier version of iOS, etiher. First iphone after years of Android... not very satisfied.

Same problem. First time it died on me after several days, sent it to the apple store they gave me a new one for free, then like a month later, I started having the same problem, tried DFU mode, then restore from my back up, didn't work. Then I restored to factory setting and add app by app. It worked for like a week, the I it got worse, I couldn't do anything, every hour with the same problem.

SOLUTION: I disabled the automatic app refresh, I have been using it for two days and perfect, I hope this is the solution for now and wait for the update.

Had the random shut down months ago but have been problem free until this weekend. Battery on around 50% at 1400hrs. Took a few pics (5) then around 1410 hrs battery about 15%. Stuck in town unable to charge. Had to switch off and keep what In had left just in case. Stay away from taking pics unless your phone battery is full or you can get to charge it. Daren't try video Jeeeezus no

everyone listen up, since apple has a crappy 1 year manufacturing warranty, go check with your wireless carrier to see if they have any sort of extended warranty on the products they sell (assuming you bought the phone from the carrier and not from an apple store, then you might be on your own) some carriers have like an extended warranty that they offer to customers, or they are some times more leanient on the rules for fixing out of warranty phones

Good luck!!

Grat news to hear that apple is working on this. I do find it funny how they state it is a random reboot. For me it's not random at all. If I'm on LTE, battery is around 30%, and unplug my headphones while listening to itunes and then try to make a call, it will reboot (and not actually reboot, but shut down and give me the dead battery symbol) 100% of the time. Also trying to use the camera while on LTE will give about an 80% chance of a reboot. Also bringing up gps maps while on LTE. I've duplicated these scenarios countless times. Can't wait for a fix.

This just started for me last night. Glad I'm not alone. It started when the battery was totally drained -- I hadn't gotten a 10% warning, so was surprised when it shut down. But plugged it in of course. Then it hovered saying it was 3% charged for hours. Then restarted, indicated 100% charge, and since then has been doing the random shut down thing described here. Incredibly frustrating...
