Are any of you aware of iOS 7 randomly shutting down iPhones? Ever since I upgraded 2 day ago it has shut down at least 3 times. The battery was at about 18%, 20%, and 36% when it shut down.  I don't believe it’s a bug with the battery percentage because it started back up as soon as hit the power button.  Also, it is not due to overheating or anything else wrong with the environment.  Nothing in the environment has changed except that I updated to iOS 7.  Let me know if this occurs to anyone else and if there are any solutions pending?

rstore the phone and set up as new to see if it changes things.

I have the same problem. Not sure what is causing it. Holding down the power button and home button for a few seconds does solve it but only temporary for now.

the same thing is happening to me except my phone battery is still at around 85%-90% when it happens. like you said, nothing in the environment changed at all. the only thing that has changed is the ios 7 update. my phone has turned itself off about 6 times since the update and it doesnt even let me turn it back on, i have to wait for the phone to turn itself back on.

I, too, am having the same problem... has anyone found a solution or talked to the apple store? this is very puzzling to me.

Same here.  Has shut down various times of the day, at least 5 times since iOS7 during various tasks, from talking to Siri to ending a phone call.  Takes about 3-4 minutes and automatically restarts from white screen w/ Apple logo.  Can't do anything in between those 3-4 minutes.

I have the same problem but I have the 4s. Ever since I installed ios7 the phone shut off for a few minutes and nothing can be done to bring it back. although holding the power and home brings it back faster. its annoying since it happens when I need the phone. I hope apple finds out whats going on otherwise Im going back to ios6. I looked at my diagnostics data on settings, about and there is all kinds of crash reports ever since ios7. things like panic.plist, GPUrestart, lowmemory and so many other things on there.

    Hi Guys,

I may have found a solution as i tried this and it hasn't turned off randomly since.

    http://www.news.com.au/technology/smartphones/troubleshooting-for-struggling-app le-ios-7-users/story-fn6vihic-1226723564685

Follow the instruction for DFU on the link.

I read about panik.plist saying that it means it is a hardware issue but i don't think it is since my phone has been working fine for about a year and then starting to act weirdly when i installed ios7.

    Hope this helps.

I have the same problem too.  And it has started happening only after upgrading to the iOS7.  And it has happened at various levels of battery charge levels. So far it has happened some 4-5 times.  Hope Apple is working to fix it.

Yes, I have that issue too.  It was not a problem before I upgraded.

I was not looking for that feature in iOS7.

    Hi guys,

I can safety say that the method that I posted above does work!

My ipone has not randomly restarted for the past 2 days.

    Give it a try

Your method is a hard reset? What about all my pictures apps music? if I restore from backup after reset wouldn't that bring me back to the problem?

I'm having this same issue on my 4s.  It's shut down at random times, and at least one time when I had more than 50% battery left.  Maybe 6 or 7 times since I've installed IOS 7.  When I try to bring it back up, I get a screen that shows that I have no battery life left (one red bar) and that I have to plug in the phone.  The only way I've been able to bring it back up is by plugging in my external battery pack.  When it comes back up, I have plenty of battery life left.

I've just installed the 7.0.2 patch, but it didn't say anything about resolving this issue.
