I just got an iPhone 5s and want to keep my old 4s as a spare for either me or my wife. Is there a proper battery level I shoud shut it off at? Full, empty, or half. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

leave it at half charge for best battery life in storage. you should probably take it out and charge it a little every month as well for absolute best battery life. just keep it between 20% and 80% ideally and it should be fine.
Not empty, you will damage battery. Between full and half, I would store it full, and then check on it every month if convenient for you.
