iOS 7/iTunes 11.1 sync issues

I've been having several problems trying to sync things. Before the update, I had added two songs to my library and after the update I tried to put them on my iPad but nothing worked. I managed to sync, again, but when I wanted to add more music, I experienced the same problem. And it has taken nearly half an hour for "Waiting for changes to be applied" to go away, if at all (I've gone out shopping multiple times and come back to a restarted sync at only 100 songs).

I've wiped the music off of my iPad twice and also reset all settings and I'm in the middle of adding all of the music back a 2nd time. I have +9000 songs in my library, but even then iTunes says it's syncing a completely wrong number (let's say I have 9000 songs, the sync says it's 8998), and I've had three alerts saying "We can't sync this song" in this attempt (happened to me twice in my first re-sync attempt). I didn't have any of these problems with iOS 6.1.3 or the previous stable version of iTunes. I am now sitting here for another day and a half to add everything back onto my iPad, with at least 5 songs mysteriously absent.

What am I to do if these songs won't sync if I unplug and reset and do everything again?

Also, I've noticed that "Group by Album Artist" will not work at all in iOS 7. It was previously working on my iPad, but all of the song orders were messed up if one song in the album was by another musician; e.g. if track 1 was by Queen, track 2 by Bon Jovi, and track 3 by Journey the order would be 2, 3, 1. The "reset all settings" fixed this but now it's "Group by Album Artist" feature isn't working. When I called Apple Care about this when it was affecting my iPhone they just said "Oh, it's a feature we may have taken out".

I'm another victim. Since installing ios7, my music won't sync and I can't download or update apps. I have an iPhone 4s and the latest iTunes. I must have spent days searching forums like this for a possible solution and I've tried umpteen suggestions, but nothing works.

Judging by the deafening silence, Apple don't seem to be the slightest bit interested in fixing it, or even acknowledging there is a problem. Thanks for that, Apple - I've only been a customer of yours for 30-odd years.

The way I feel at the moment, I'd love to dump the iPhone and get something that actually works.

Hi folks, what has actually worked for me (after spending a half Sunday on it, thanks to Apple, please tell where do I send the invoice) is simply a clean install instead of updates :

1. backup everything

2. backup iphone with itunes

3. uninstall itunes

4. download and install itunes (11.1.1.11), settings and data came back doing this way

5. reset and full restore of iphone from itunes, direct in ios 7.02 and selecting restore existing device instead of new device, this restores applis, data and resync the whole thing

Music sync is now working again...

man, I've even tried that and my library's screwed up. in summary, I have:

1) Restored my iPod touch 5 to factory settings 8 times,

2) Deleted my library file and created a new one,

3) Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, which is not a walk in the park to do on a Mac,

4) Created a new apple ID.

Yes! I've even created a new apple ID. And to this day, out of my 7598 songs, only ~400 sync. The rest are greyed out and show that abhorred red circle with a small square inside of it. The same song-skipping shenanegains that everyone else is encountering is happening to me.

Working on DRM-ripping my 268 protected songs and getting the eff out of Dodge.

I'm having exactly the same sync issue. Built a playlist for a party at the weekend on my Win 7 net book (running itunes 11.1). Tried to sync and it hangs at the final step. This is happening on both ipad2 and iPhone 4S. Uninstalled / reinstalled itunes multiple times with no luck. Rebooting the apple devices didn't help either.

Apple need a fix, quickly!

Dude.
iv resolved it!
apple released an update to ios7.
the rest is down to you. apple dont have the instructions fot you!
this works;
uninstall itunes
download latest version (IIRC 11.1.026) and install it.
check for updates on iphone and update if necessary
connect iphone.
do a backup
restore iphone
then everything should sync.
after its working, you may notice "itunes store" wont fully load and dumps back to the home screen
just open "music" and tap store. next time you use the "itunes store" app it will then work.
done.

shoulhave took a photo. there was a separate message in a small box asking me to download an elelment and software release was 11.?.?.026

i did put IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY! but the 026 stuck in my mind because apple dont normally use indoirect digits for coding software updates until they know it works - was it a beta?

anyway - it worked. thank god.

I'm having the same problem. iPhone 5, iOS 7, no syncing with iTunes (current release). It's actually been that way since the most recent version of iOS 6. I thought perhaps the problem would be resolved in iOS 7. It's very frustrating. For a company that prides themselve on superior user experiences, they really need to reevaluate the way they respond to and correct bugs in their interface.

I called Apple and they are aware of the issue. I am told a new version of iTunes will be released shortly and they honestly have no suggestions on how to fix it right now. I was told to just manually sync everything.

At this point I can't get music or new apps to sync so I just stopped trying. The only good news is that my calendar still syncs so I can still use the phone for business.
