how do i play all the same genre on my ios7?

Have you tried tapping the "More" tab at the bottom of the Music app? I have an option there for Genre.

If you don't see Genre there, there is an Edit button in the top right corner so that you can add it.

Would like an answer to this as well! The ability to play a genre or shuffle a genre has been removed! WHY?

It hasn't been removed. You just need to add the Genre option using the Edit menu.

Try tapping on More at the bottom of the Music app and if you don't see Genre, tap Edit in the upper right hand corner. Then you can drag Genre to the bottom if you use it frequently.

But how do you SHUFFLE the genre?

+1 can't believe Apple would get rid of the option to shuffle a genre. It makes no sense. Apple please reinstate the option to shuffle a genre ASAP.

Same problem here, just reported it as a bug/error so perhaps this will be fixed.

Ok I am having the same problem. There is no play shuffle or play all button on the Genre on my iPhone 4S. But there is a play all or shuffle option on my ipad?????? Anyway if I ask Siri to play all of a Genre she will do it. So for now that's all I can figure out.

Ok...thanks for mentioning to use Siri....that at least works. But what if we are at a place when you dont want to talk to your phone to make it work? Will this come back?

Once you ask Siri to play a Genre and the genre list is playing you can pause or stop the play and come back to it by just hitting the play button. But if you back out and start to play say a play list then later you want to play a Genre you then would to have to reuse Siri. Or go to "artists" in "search" field type in your Genre like say "rock", then pull down and you'll see a "shuffle" option. This will also let you manually play your Genre without using Siri.

Guys, go to the "search" box, type the Genre you want, select it, then swipe down to see an option at the top saying "shuffle all"

I, too, have asked Siri to play whatever genre I want to hear. But obviously this wasn't necessary in the past. And I'm not always able to verbalize my requests. I just tried the "search box" suggestion which works pretty well. But - again - didn't need to use this type of workaround before. PLEASE BRING THIS FEATURE BACK. I'll also suggest this in the feedback section so we're not just preaching to ourselves.

Guys, i was lying on my bed, and suddenly figured out this solution. Through Siri to play one single genre songs, just speak to siri: Shuffle Jazz (or other genres)...Then it works!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see how having the shuffle button removed from the screen actually made this better 😠. I like siri, but I would appreciate some flexibility here. Limitations are never good. I dont see how the icon was in the way. It was very helpful!!!
