updated my Apple TV 3rd Gen to version 6, now it just blinks fast...

I updated my Apple TV 3rd Gen to version 6 of it´s OS but now all I get is a fast blinking light on the front of it and an image of the Apple with a white cord to connect to the Itunes Icone.

The image on the TV comes and goes, it appear the Apple TV might be restarting from time to time.

What happened and what should I do... I dont have a micro usb to usb cable either.

>what should I do.

What it is telling you to do. Connect it to iTunes directly via USB.

>I dont have a micro usb to usb cable
You will need to buy or borrow one.

I called Apple to try to get help. You'd think that when they have a major update, they'd be willing to assist people with problems .. nope. I purchased our Apple TV 8 months ago .. It would cost $20 to talk to them one time.

So much for good Apple Customer Service.

One other thing .. the connection on the back of the Apple TV is a MICRO USB, not a mini usb. If you're going to run to the store to try and beat the hundreds of other people who will need to get a cable to get their Apple TV's to work, make sure you get the correct cable.

Personally, I think I'm done with Apple TV at this point .. I'd rather pay out another $100 for a different manufacturers device that doesn't crash just by simply getting an update.

Yet another black eye for this once great company.

Well, my wife talked me out of throwing the ATV out the window. Though Apple was no help at all, I was able to get a MICRO USB to USB cable at Walmart ($10). Best Buy said they had one for $5, but Walmart was much easier to get to tonight. Hooked the ATV to my iMac with iTunes on. iTunes immediately recognized the ATV and asked if I wanted to restore it. I did, it took about 15 minutes to do it's thing which included the new problem child update. Afterwards it was exactly the same as a brand new ATV .. EVERYTHING had to be redone. Very frustrating due to the time wasted, hassle of getting the cable, having to pay for a cable I wouldn't have otherwise needed, having to re-invent the wheel regarding all of our settings in the ATV, but it's finally working properly. That said, Apple owes me 3 hours of my life back.
