Q: Ios 7 mail Thread count

I'm using ios 7 on a 4s. A feature is gone or missing that is a significant problem for me. In ios 6 there was a gray box next to the messages in the inbox indicating the number of messages within a thread. That's gone now. That was my only indication that 22 people had replied to my message. Now the only way to tell is to swipe or open the message. I like "organize by thread/conversation", but now I feel like I need to turn it off or I'll miss messages. Thoughts anyone? Todd

    To add just another ovservation.

If you want to see the count without going into the thread you can swipe like you want to delete and this will expose the number of emails are in the thread.

Not sure how Apple thought this is a more efficient.

I've posted feedback about this as well. This is causing HUGE problems for my company and managing email conversations. The grouping doesn't seem to work as well as it did in 6.1.2 either. I have an iPad still on 6.1.2 and the iPhone on 7.0.1 side by side. The iPad lists a thread with 8 messages, while the iPhone has a thread with 3 messages, another with 2, and the other three messages are just singles in the inbox. The subject is the same for all of the messages.

    +1

I really miss this feature - I get so many emails and group IMs during the day and I try to leave it up to my team to handle but occasionally have to jump in. The thread count was a great way to quickly see what things haven't been responded to as well as which threads were spinning out of control with lots of responses.

I'm sure Apple removed it to clean the UI but they should be able to come up with some innovative solution. Google is revamping their site to help with this common problem - how to float important emails to be more visible. Apple seems to be taking a step the other direction - just make the clutter prettier instead of actually trying to provide an innovative solution.

The look? IOS7 as a whole is a mess.  Do you have trouble when selecting multiple emails the app quickly deselects for you?

    here is the thread.

    +1.

I have been getting annoyed a bit by not knowing whether an email is an email or a group of emails (and how many).

I just upgraded to iOS7 and was disappointed a bit overall. I didn't appreciate the new look & feel of iOS7. For ex, instead of wasting the space by showing 5 dots for cellular signal, they could have kept the bars and added date stamp on the top. Battery charging has its own space & icon, instead of showing inside the battery icon itself. Someone at apple was thinking nothing or too much, I guess.

Not sure if you read through all the post, but my last two point out how you can tell if it is a group thread or single email. Look for Yo_Bee.

If the item has two arrows on the right it is a group thread and if there is a single arrow it is a single thread.

To see how many  emails are grouped you will need to swipe like your are going to delete the item to see the count.
