Can you run windows from an sd card on the macbook air?

I have a new macbook and I am needing to put windows on it. I was hoping to save space on my ssd by potentially running windows from an sd card. I know it wont be the fastest, however I am willing to live with that. I have a sandisk extreme micro sd card with 32gb of storage I am hoping to use. Has anyone done this on a mac? Is it even possible?
