Can't share files between two macs, but can share screen

I have a strange situation where my Mac Mini cannot see files on my iMac, which is on the same network. In the Finder the iMac is shown in the shared computers list, when I click on it the finder window says "Disconnected" and has a button to "Share Screen". I can share the screen, but I cannot seem to log into see files.

On the iMac, I can see and work with the Mac Mini with no problems.

Sharing preferences are the same: File sharing on, Remote management on, Bluetooth sharing on.

Both are running OSX 10.8.4. Mac Mini is a mid 2011 while the iMac is a late 2009.

Any suggestions would be appre
