Why battery case doesn't work.

The reason your battery cases are not working is because they are not certified Apple products. I have had the same issue today and after doing some research I found that the iOS 7 upgrade apparently negates the use of any charging product not certified by Apple.

I am absolutely livid. I spent over hundred dollars on a Lenmar case for the iPhone5. It has worked perfectly for over a month. Now Apple decides they don't want Products on the market that they don't have their name on. That's some serious garbage.

This could be the last Apple product I ever buy.

I have used Apple products for almost 30 years. I have always been a fan. This is inexcusable. And exemplifies why so many people view Apple as a company of greed.

Not happy.

I have exactly the same problem. And I am not happy. I spent what may not seem much on a charging case, but still means I have a useless charger now.

I hope there is a setting! But I can't find anything in Settings.

I found A solution that fixed my problem. This may not fix your problem.

I found that if I plugged the battery case into the wall charger with the phone in the case, the phone would show that it was charging. The phone was receiving a charge through the case.

I removed the phone from the case.

Next I plugged just the case into a wall charger then repeatedly removed and plugged in the USB adapter.

I placed the phone in the case and repeated removing and plugging in the USB adapter.

With the phone still in the case, I unplugged the battery case from the power adapter. I set my battery case to start charging the phone.

The phone recognized the battery case.

everything is working now.

I shut down And restarted my phone several times.

Now the phone starts charging every time I turn on the battery case.

Previous to performing the steps above, my phone would not recognize the battery case.

The battery case I am using is a Lenmar BC5 Meridian.

I just realized I am using a third party cable with my Mophie juice box to charge my iPad Air and 5S. When I switched to using the Apple supplied cable the charging from my Mophie to Apple devices worked. Check to cable you are using to be sure it is Truly Apple compatible.

I tried taking my iPhone charger case off 2 times and I tried holding the button down on the back for 3seconds and it will not turn on.
