By connecting your iPhone to iTunes, information is downloaded from the iTunes Store that will allow it to utilize Push Notifications.

If still getting the message, try signing out of, then back into, the iTunes Store on the iPhone.

I tried this on my iPad and I still get the pop ups.

Should add that I didn't have any problem until I installed the latest OS a few days ago. Not a happy camper.
