No flashlight or calculator in my control center--did I somehow delete them when I set things up?

Go to the App Store and search for calculator. Make sure it says Apple under it as the creator. If you can't find it tell Siri to find the Apple calculator.

There’s no native calculator app for the iPad.

With a plethora of great free AND paid calculator apps over a 7 year period, Apple really has no great need or urgency to produce a native calculator app for iPad, any longer.

My understanding of what Yanni2222 was saying is since Apple iPads never had a calculator or a flashlight why not introduce them in the newest update.

You would have to ask Apple - but obvioulsy iPads that don't have a flash have no need for a flashlight option

New iPad Pro models and the 9.7 inch screen iPad Pros have a LED flash, now.

I've had my air 2 for nearly a year now and never had the need for a flashlight Or a flash...... until today that is.

The responses that see no reason to ask.....it just is......accept and move on or get out of my product line.

Seems like more people would have learned by now that questions are of the upmost importance. That is unless you are the business person trying to make maximum gain with minimum output.

I too would like to know why the flash does not exist in these tablets.

Is it a design problem? I know it eats batteries. Why oh why have you not incorporated flash for cameras. I am ok with spending a few dollars purchasing an app to increase the ability of that Flash.

I do wait to hear the answer in baited breath.

Obviously it's not our decision as to why flash isn't on older iPads, we are just fellow users - if you want to know why you will have to ask Apple and see if they reply.

You're not going to get a real answer here as we are just users AND I seriously doubt you'll get any real answer from Apple directly from CA., either!

That stated, there are apps that turn your entire iPad screen into a flashlight!

A blank white iPad screen is plenty bright. Like a small lighting panel.

Apple just chose not to include a rear LED camera flash on iPads for years!

Up until the 6th gen iPod Touch, no iPod Touch had a rear LED camera flash, either!

New, 2nd gen iPad Pros and the older 9.7 inch screen iPad Pros have LED flashes on them, now.

My very expensive 1st gen, 128 GBs, 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro doesn't have a rear LED camera flash, either!

Apple makes a lot of arbitrary decisions on what hardware appears on what product lineups.

Apple does what it does.

If you need an iPad with an LED camera flash, sell your iPad Air 2 and purchase a 9.7ihch, 10.5 inch or 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro.

Those features are for the iPhone not the iPad.

They've never had a built in calculator app on any iPad under any version of iOS. So not being there in iOS 7 makes perfect sense.
