Sep 20, 2013 10:50 PM in response to Bearraeby OrangeMarlin,Yes, that's intentional. You can turn it off by going to Settings>General>Passcode Lock. Enter your passcode, then turn off "Siri" in Allow Access When Locked.
Furthermore, if you enable "Find my iPhone", you can remote wipe your phone.
It's up to you how much security you want or don't want with your iPhone.
