I have a late 2009 iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. If I upgrade my OS to OS X Mountain Lion, will this make my Mac run slower?

I have a late 2009 iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, which is currently running Mac OS X 10.7.5. If I upgrade my OS to OS X Mountain Lion, will this make my Mac run slower? Will it cause lag?

It depends on the applications you use. If an application isn't compatible with OS X Mountain Lion, you may have issues after upgrading to Mountain Lion, but if not, you shouldn't have any problem. Just make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com


OS X Mavericks will be released in fall and will include more features > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview
