Dang , Lucky you .. i am leaving the country for a 6-9 months period and can't get one , online orders as its indicated on your receipt will not come til Oct 8th to 11th and i am leaving before that day, what to do what to do .... i checked many stores and none have one or i must go early and wait in line IF and only IF they get one ....
Just to let you know my "TMobile" phone has arrived.. Took out the Tmobile sim and popped in the ATT sim card...made a call and received a call without any problem. LTE speeds
Good. It's settled then.
Hi Cling, may i ask you how long did it take to have it ? as i need to order too but needed by Oct 8th and not a day later .
thanks
I woke up at 3.00am (USA EASTERN) to order my iphone 5s on the day that the store opened. So I believe I was one of the first. I really am not sure how long it will take to be delivered now. I know there is a backup. I knew that i had these time constraints.
Did AT$T charge you the device upgrade fee?
I paid FULL price...didnt involved ATT at all..still have a year left on my contract....(i just wanted what i wanted ...not too smart i know)
Understood, and I also paid full price. I was just curious if they would still find a reason to charge us the $36.

No, the unlocked 5S is not available in the USA. A non-contract T-mobile phone is, but it is not stated to be unlocked.
Yes it is. All T-Mobile USA iphones sold by Apple are unlocked. I am using a "T-Mobile" 5s right now with AT&T. The only difference between a "SIM-free" unlocked phone and the T-Mobile is that the latter is shipped with an inactive T-Mobile SIM card for convenience. Just replace the SIM.
Thanks again for the clarification. Didn't want to give anyone erroneous information.

Yes - AT&T charges the $36 any time they need to change their records as to what device is associated with your account.
Has anyone yet tried using one pruchased in the US on overseas with any GSM carriers there? Does it also work just fine overseas?
Unlocked is unlocked - there are no international differences.
It will work just as well as any unlocked iPhone. Not all iPhone specific features (FaceTime, iMessage, visual voicemail, etc.) will be available if the carrier isn't an official iPhone carrier. LTE may not work either, depending if the carrier is certified for LTE by Apple (even if they use compatible LTE bands).
T-mobile one is same as the unlock one?
Since i may put my Hong Kong nano SIM card in the future i want to make sure that i buy the correct thing
