Ok so i just recieved my iphone 5S T-Mobile 32 GB. The phone is factory unlock and everything works good. Suresh bro i put my Indian Airtel Company Sim Card in it and made a call to India and everything is just perfect. I also had a factory restore an upon doing that it showed me a message, "Congratulations, Your iphone has been unlocked". In a word, the iphone 5S T-Mobile Contract Free phone is a "FACTORY UNLOCK" phone and one can update as many time upon update is available and the phone works with worlds any GSM Company.

Thanks All..

Hi Dhruv

Thanks for the comment. It really helps in removing some of the ambiguity associated with the iPhone 5s T-Mobile Unlocked Model. Could you also share the Model Number of your phone (you'll find that on the back-cover). Is it the the A1530 or the A1533? I ask this because it is the A1530 Model that is expected to be compatible with the LTE Network in India. I am also given to understand that it is the A1530 Model that would be available for sale in India.

Thanks

Hi,

I am currently living in Brazil and I am coming home to the US for the holidays (New Jersey). I want to order an iphone 5s to be shiped to a friend in New Jersey so that when I arrive I can pick it up and bring it back to brazil. If I buy the iphone 5s T-Mobile version that is supposed to be "unlocked" and bring it back to Brazil, will it work? All I have to do is take out the T-Mobile sim card and put in my VIVO (brazilian carrier) sim card and it should work fine? And then also when I come back to the US it should work with all US carriers? Will it work with verizon too?

Please respond and sorry for all the questions.

Thanks,

S

First you need to check if the USA version of the 5S has the Brazil GSM band and LTE band in it.

http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

If it has the band that your VIVO carrier opperates on then it should work fine. Check the size of your current SIm car is a nano sim otherwize you either need to change to a nano sim or just cut it with scissors, there are templates available online to print out.

When you come back to the US it would only work with AT&T or T-Mobile because those are the only 2 GSM carriers. You wouldn't want the CDMA (Verizon & Sprint) iPhone anyway because it can't use data during a call, can't receive calls while using data and doesn't properly support SMS messages, either they don't arrive or can get scrambled. T-Mobile pre-paid is the cheapest, only $30 for 100mins or $50 for unlimited, both have unlimited texts and data.

I got this info today from Apple Chat:

"Apple hasn't released any information on when the iPhone 5s unlocked will be released. At this moment, I'm not able to see when the unlocked models will be out for sale just yet. We do have the iPhone 5s for T-Mobile that is unlocked for use outside of the U.S. You are just required to use T-Mobile while in the U.S. I can confirm that the T-Mobile iPhone is not fully unlocked, but is unlocked while outside of the U.S. While outside of the U.S., you can use compatible GSM SIM cards. If you purchase the iPhone for T-Mobile and want to use the iPhone in the U.S., you will then need to contact T-Mobile for use. You can still use your international SIM card when you leave the U.S.".
