Best place to sell MacBook Pro

Hi guys,

Was just wondering if anyone may be able to offer any advice as to the best place to sell a MacBook Pro? And also if anyone might be able to give an estimate of how much it may be worth.

It is a 2.66 GHz 15 inch MacBook Pro from late 2009, comes with 500GB hard drive and 8GB of memory (updated last year using memory from Crucial). The CD drive doesn't work but everything else runs perfectly. Had a major service in the summer of 2012 when it wouldn't turn on. Main logic board, fans, hard drive and battery all replaced so a large proportion of the laptop is only a year or so old.

The unibody casing is a little scratched with two very small dents, only superficial however.

I would be selling in the UK with original box, charger and install CDs.

Would rather not sell on eBay as I've now found they like to charge 10% commission which is just ridiculous!

Any help would be much appreciated,

Nick

eBay is your best bet. A 10% commission is very reasonable. Any trade in program would offer much less, and you will not find a commission cheaper than 10% for direct resell at the market capacity eBay offers.

For your model:

$700 without defect, in completed listings

$500 with broken optical drive in completed listings.
