Can a Samsung phone like S III MINI be connected to ipad 2 using bluetooth? I don't remember whether I had that before upgrading to iOS7!

I am unable to connect my ios7 updated ipad 2 with my samsung s III mini. Are they pairable or not? Reading the guide makes me feel that I cannot.
