Q: Incorrect iCloud backup space calculation
I have a basic iCloud account with 5GB of storage, and I backup multiple iOS devices to it (iPod, iPhone, iPad). I have limited the backups on each to just essential files, so each backup is a few hundred MB. My iCloud account shows that I have 4.5GB available. Now, here's the problem. I have one iPod Touch that iCloud refuses to backup because it calculates the storage requirement at 9.1GB. Even if I go to "Manage Storage" and turn off every item possible, the calculation does not change (and the largest item is the camera roll at about 2GB). I've checked for other items that iCloud would backup automatically, but there "Messages" are very few on this iPod and there are no voice messages at all on this iPod. There are movies on it (from iTunes) but I can't control whether those are backed up, and it seems senseless for iCloud to back them up when they are from iTunes to begin with.
It seems that iCloud is miscalculating the storage requirements for this device, and thus preventing it from ever backing up. Or am I missing something that iCloud is attempting to backup and I'll simply never be able to backup this iPod?
iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 6.1.3
