Scanning with a Mac anti-virus scanner really isn't going to do the trick for your Boot Camp system. You've got to have Windows anti-virus software installed. I've heard good things about Microsoft Security Essentials, but Windows security issues aren't my specialty, so I don't know how well that works.

Regarding the Mac, I would advise getting rid of McAfee. It's worthless for catching Mac malware. See the results of my anti-virus testing in January. Uninstall it, using the McAfee uninstaller found in the Applications folder. (If you don't see an uninstaller, let me know... there's an alternate, but ridiculous, uninstall method that used to be required at one point.)

As to whether anti-virus is needed in Mac OS X, see my Mac Malware Guide.

i unistalled mcafee by deleting the icon from application folder but i think it not completely gone, it stil working in menu bar

That's not adequate. That's why I directed you to use the uninstaller. Do you still have the uninstaller in your Applications folder? If so, use that now.

If not, from an admin user account, open the Terminal application and paste the following command in, then press return:

/usr/local/McAfee/uninstallMSC

When asked for your password, enter it. Do not be alarmed that nothing appears when you type; that's a security feature.

Which version of Windows are you running? I'm using Win 7 Pro and I just let the Microsoft Security settings do their thing... I've yet to get hit with any virus/malware/trojan, etc.

You get points when other users find that you've either helped them (5 points) or solved the problem (10 points). I finally made it to Level 7 today - had to hit the 20,000 point mark. Getting to Level 4 is so simple, but beyond that it's a bear to advance!

Good luck,

Clinton

p.s. please tell me how to level up and get points

As Clinton says, you just answer questions here and hope people mark your replies as helpful or solved. (For example, you have awarded me a total of 15 points in this discussion, 10 for the "solved" and 5 for the "helpful.")

Note, though, that the points don't really get you anything. You can't use them for anything. When you reach level 6, that gives you access to a few behind-the-scenes forums where high-level regulars hang out, but that's a dubious honor. Those forums aren't very helpful and there are a few folks who really ruin the tone for everyone else.

If you have knowledge that you enjoy sharing, by all means participate here! But don't do it just to earn points, or you'll end up disappointed.
