Hi,
I'd suggest you to Backup, then in iTunes Restore your device as a new phone, then Restore from Backup.
Hope that helps.
After backup and restore there is still 776 mb of saved messages
Ok,
I went wrong here: if you delete a text or message, they are not fully erased until you sync. If you have not marked them to be deleted, the won't be deleted.
You can search for some apps to bulk remove all your text messages if you don't want to keep them.
I used DiskAid in previous versions of iOS.
Hope it helps.
ok so the syncing did not work, i dowloaded that diskaid and when i went to go the the messages it also claimed that i have no messages on my phone, even though i still apparently have 776 mb according to my iphone.
I've noticed the same thing - and it looks to be about the same space being utilized by "saved" messages. Did you ever find a way to clear this without setting up as a new phone?
APPLE TECHNICIANS PLEASE ACTUALLY READ WHAT YOUR USERS HAVE TO SAY AND FIND A WAY TO FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is really frustrating. What's a "saved message," I've cleared out all but 3 texts, which are only 2 messages long anyways without any media and I have 2.4GB yes GB of used space?
APPLE. HELP.
I am having the same problem, with my phone saying I have 1.2 GB of "saved messages". I have a feeling that there is a bug with the messaging feature with all models of the iPhone. I have read some posts about issues with iMessages not be sent or received by 4 and 4s, however I have the same issue with my 5. So my feeling is these messaging issues are somehow related. iOS 7.0.3 hurry up.
It's a corruption in the actual software. That is why you do not see a response from Apple. They claim that if you wipe your phone clean an reboot your data it will go away. Well unfortunately it will not the only way is to wipe the phone clean and redo the phone as if it was new. But you will lose all your previous photos and data since you WILL NOT reload your former data. Basically you will go in manually an download all the apps you previously had. This was told to me by a Apple Genius Bar technician who says that is the only way. He also said there is more people that have this issue but just don't know it yet. Basically we are losing anywhere from 3-5 gigs of data of our phone cause of a bug in iOS. This is one of the things that is nice about the Android platform (which I used to have) they have the ability to wipe out files like this.
Can somebody do something? 1.6 is about 10% of all I have on my iphone.... SAVED MESSAGES....how to delete it?
This really makes me mad. Makes me never want to buy another iPhone, especially because apple won't admit that there is a bug in the soft wear and try to fix it. 2.4 gigs of "saved messages"
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do other then wipe out photos and programs that aren't dear to you.
So did wiping out your iPhone resolved this? I don't want to wipe my phone if this doesn't resolve the issue.
No it did not. I tried it twice you just reboot the corrupt software.
It says it takes up 7GB for me...
