what is a qualifying device for pages, numbers and keynote?
I just upgraded to a new iPhone 5S at the Apple store. I thought I was to be getting Keynote, Numbers, and Pages for free on the new device??
iPhone 5s, iOS 7

The iPhone 5s is a qualifying device - they are basically iPads, iPhone, iPod Touches activated after 1st September which have iOS 7 installed on them (which the new iPhones will have). Do those apps show in the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your phone, and/or do they have 'free' (as opposed to a 'proper' price) against them in main part of the store ?
They are not showing on the purchased tab. I searched it in App store, but it has the reg. price on it.
Try logging out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in and see if they then show as free - I haven't got a new device so I can't check to see if they show free for me.
I've had the same problem. Last night, I I searched for the apps, and they showed $9.99 each. A little while later, I checked again, and they showed free. I downloaded a few of them, but didn't want to get them all. This morning, I checked again and the others were $9.99 again. I've tried logging in and out. I've tried looking for them in itunes on my computer. Its all the same, its not working like it should.
I was able to download numbers for free. But then I got a stange blue screen when I tried to leave the prgram and my phone went through a restart. Now all the susposedly free apps have a price by them. Gogin to call Apple tonight to see what gives.
I went ahead and purchased the apps, because I didn't see the free download. (This happened 9/14.) Just a moment ago (10/11), Apple emailed me a complementary iTunes store credit for the purchases of Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iPhoto, and iMovie. As a result, these purchases became free. I went ahead and purchased Garageband. I'm guessing Apple will send me credit for that in about a month time.
To everyone who wants to know if they have a qualifying device and didn't get all the free apps, here is your answer! If you just purchased a new iPhone or iPad, then you do have a qualifying device. If for some reason you didn't get all your free apps, then all you need to do is contact a representative from apple and tell them which apps you didn't get and they will issue you the codes to download the apps. That's it!
When I searched for Pages, it showed the price, but when I went to the bottom of the store home page and tapped the "Apps Made by Apple" link, all the free apps were there.
Sorry if someone already said that somewhere else.
