Sep 21, 2013 5:06 PM in response to Greg Salazarby Paddy44,Tonight having exactly the same problem and light still flashing. Don't understand what the itunes logo and USB cable picture is for. Remote will not do anything. Can't reset as I can not get on. Surely you do not have to buy a cable in order to update successfully. Tried online Apple Support but kept asking me for money even although I am still under guarantee. Please post if you get a solution.

Sep 21, 2013 5:09 PM in response to Randybowdoinby Mintdave,I've just had the same issue, it means that the installation has failed and to get the upgrade this requires connecting to iTunes via a micro usb wire sold separately. Don't know how much they are but hopefully not too expensive? I don't know whether you can connect to iTunes via another means?

Sep 21, 2013 6:39 PM in response to Greg Salazarby vp@apple,I have same problem, reboot does not work, still iTunes icon after reboot, and after unplug it from wall.
I had a microUSB cable an connected to my mac, succeed to restore it.
But surprise, it did not update to 6.0 but restore the old 5.3 !!!
If i check now for software update it says is up to date!!!
Good work apple, like all things in the last time, no surprise shares are down to 400.
Probably the best one can hope from the next apple tv hardware update will be the box in six colors...

Sep 21, 2013 9:09 PM in response to Greg Salazarby RPCmvinDot,Ok did this last night and got it to work. Yes the update failed, got the pic of the Apple TV with the USB connector on it. You need a USB, computer type, to mini USB. You can buy one but they seem to be in short supply since Apple released this update, go figure. This cable is also uesd by some other things like cell phones so look for a thin 1/8 of an inch or so connector. Not the one supplied with the iPhone 5. After that plug it into your computer and iTunes will do the rest. You are going to lose all your settings when it is done. Nice one Apple!

Sep 22, 2013 8:33 AM in response to Greg Salazarby mlwebster777,I also have attcahed to a complete the update; however, it remains stuck on a apple tv logo image that shows a cable going toward the iTunes logo. I hav attemted to re-est by powering down eveything several times, but no sucess. The book says one can purchase some high-end cable - not my choice - and plud into my iMac to restore. I am hoping there is some other more logical - and less rip-off - method to currect this.

Sep 22, 2013 4:32 PM in response to Greg Salazarby tonguc,If you have an Amazon Kindle in the house, it is the same cable that they supply as their charger. Worked like a charm and didn't have to buy anything new.
