The Apple Store carries only the Escort SmartRadar Detector Apple Pack which must be used with the Escort Live iPhone app.
SmartRadar is not the same as the Passport 9500ix. You must use SmartRadar with the Escort Live app on your iPhone to be able to use its location based features including storing and ignoring false alerts. The Passport 9500ix has its own integrated GPS chip enabling these features when you are using it alone without the Escort Live app. Radar detection performance is the same between these two models.
The top of the line windshield mounted detector from Escort Inc is the new Passport Max which also integrates with the Escort Live app if you purchase an optional SmartCord Live power cord.
There are not 15 bands used to measure speed. There are 3 radar bands used to measure speed; X, K, and Ka. These bands and their intended uses are regulated by the FCC. Although not technically a "band", LIDAR laser is also used to measure speed. Police use no other "band" to measure speed. All of these are easily detected by the radar detectors mentioned before. "15 bands" is a marketing gimmick which considers rarely used safety alert messages as "bands". Please be aware that due to it's focused beam detecting laser usually means that you have been targeted. Escort Live's shared user alerts are a great warning to the use of laser in your area.
