Looks like you bought a T-Mobile unlocked phone, Assuming Russian carriers are GSM and use the supported bands for that phone, it should theoretically work,

But that is something you should have asked before buying the phone.

There's no way to say for certain whether or not it will work in Russia without knowing what type of cellular carriers are available in Russia.

Its a GSM phone, so if You wanted to use it with a CDMA carrier you would not be able to.

Other than that there's no way to know, unless someone here knows about Russian carriers.

Verizon uses CDMA in the US, but the GSM portion of phone has been historically unlocked for use with international carriers.

However I find it strange that they would sell you a Verzon phone without a contract I did not think that was possible.

Likey Yes, but as I said Verizon uses CDMA so while that portion is locked to Verizon, the GSM portion which most other carriers use has been historically unlocked.

So its still possible it may work with Russian carriers.

You'll have to test it out to find out though.

The new iPhone 5s A1533 can support both Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile in the US. Apple was able to pack both CDMA, GSM and all the LTE bands Verizon and AT&T support. If you buy your iPhone for Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile you will be getting the same exact phone (model A1533).
