Will HDMI adapter with HDMI to Component cable work?

I will be integrating my iPhone 5 with my vehicle navigation screen (2006 Acura TSX). In order to do this I will need analogue video and audio signals.

I am wondering if either of these solutions work:

1. Apple VGA Adapter combined with a generic VGA to Composite/S-Video cable for the Video feed. Using the headphone jack as audio out into my auxillary audio port. will both these ports function simultaneously? or will VGA out turn off audio to my headphone jack?

2. Apple HDMI adapter combined with a generic HDMI to Component + stereo cable. Is the HDMI adapter/iphone capable of converting a digital to analogue signal? I prefer this route as I will only have to plug/unplug one cable as opposed to two.

-if a converter box is required, is there any USB power ones people would recommend?

3. Is there another option that I am missing?
