ios7: Can two iPhones share one Apple ID and one iTunes account, as we did before upgrade?

This worked fine before, but iMessage is FUBAR now. Lot's of lost, duplicate and redundant messages.

So, by that reckoning, it would be a more elegant solution to to have my wife and I, that live in the same house, that use the same mac, the same credit card and a shared itunes account with 5k+ songs, should each have to enter a separate log-in, a seperate AppleID, seperate itunes, seperate credit cards, and, I guess, flip a coin to see who gets to start with 0 songs?

I realize it is an antiquated idea to many, but there are some of us still sharing lives the old fashoned way.

Sharing worked fine before the upgrade. There needs to be a work around, and I hope that Apple will provide it.

OK. Now I'm confused, I thought it was better to have one ID for all Apple. Is that inaccurate?

Many families really like the the 'Find my Iphone', as it relates to keeping up with loved ones. As I understand it, new icloud will only allow finding devices associated with one Apple ID, correct? So going to seperate icloud ID;s will mean and end to that feature, right?

I hope I am wrong, but I can't find a way around it.

Yes, can can share the same Apple ID for all iTunes content...millions of families do this...there are no issues doing this.

And, you can & should have separate Apple ID's for iCoud. iCould is really designed not to share among multiple users...not saying you can't do this, just that it can create a mess. You just have to be aware of the implications of using the same Apple ID for iCloud...contacts, as an example...one user could just start deleting & there go your contacts...iMessage...everyone gets everyone's iMessages...stuff like that. Can create quit a mess.

Want to know what the biggest problem is with sharing? When you're no longer with that person you share the account with and you sync your phones and they get all of your text messages, contacts, photos, account access, everything YOU have on YOUR phone becomes theirs. Good luck with that by the way. It's super fun to deal with. Please do not ever share apple ids, iCloud id's.. better yet, don't ever get the couples cell phone plan either. Take the advice from somebody who has to deal with everything above.
