I periodically go though my iPhone and delete my daughter's contacts, but everytime I sync it back up, their contacts get on my iPhone, and I have to assume my professional contacts end up on their phone. How do I stop that?

You will have to use two different Apple IDs and iCloud IDs if you are using iCloud.
Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store and set your Apple ID there. You can create a new one for your daughter in http://appleid.apple.com
Likewise in Settings > iCloud > Account

I have 2 iphones, one for work and one for persona. I want to separate my personal messages, texts, etc from my work phone. Does this mean I need 2 separate accounts? How would I do that?
I have this question too if someone can answer it. Personal phone + work phone. Don't want to open a new apple ID but also want to keep apps, contacts, messages, and backups separate. How does this work?
