Jun 2, 2016 5:03 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby DrELD,What I did on my phone is set the Default ringtone to silent (I had to make one.) Then I gave everyone in my contact list a different ringtone.
If someone not in my contacts list calls, the phone never rings and goes to voice mail.
Not a perfect fix, but it does work.

Jun 2, 2016 5:04 PM in response to Okbartby sberman,Read Meg St._Clair response from September 2013 on page 1 of this very long thread.
As has been stated by Meg and in many other threads here, unknown callers cannot be blocked.

You could basically do this same thing using "Do Not Disturb".
Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Jun 2, 2016 7:09 PM in response to Okbartby MLadd,This is a Carrier issue. Not an Apple issue.
And for those couple of people who think it's built into Android, it's not. It's the same thing, individual call blocking.
There may be a few third part apps that provide this, but it is not built into the default Android OS. You would have to get your carrier to block unknown numbers.

Jun 3, 2016 6:29 AM in response to Qubicby Okbart,Was the problem solved with the change in your phone number? I've had the same phone number since bag phones came out, but I would consider changing to a different number if it will stop the problem. Which is another question: What action(s) have I committed in the past to unleash this torrent of unremitting robocalls, from Unknown, No Caller ID, Unknown Caller, as well as legit phone numbers that have been spoofed by scammers? I'd hate to get a new phone number, only to have this endless cycle begin anew because I've unknowingly done something to start it up again! Can anyone advise what are the most likely things that get your number on a list?

Jun 3, 2016 6:38 AM in response to Okbartby DrELD,Set the Default ringtone and vibration to silent. Then give everyone in the contact list a different ringtone. (For 220 contacts it took me 15 min)

Jun 16, 2016 10:28 AM in response to ovelez25by bigjoed,One thing you could try is using the Do Not Disturb setting and changing the Allow Calls From to "All Contacts" and changing the Silence setting to "Always"

The problem with that, as has, I think been noted in this thread, is that DND blocks all alerts. So, not calendar notifications, not text alerts, nothing except calls from people in your contacts and the alarm would get through.

Jul 12, 2016 11:58 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby tazicus, looking at my call log, over the last 2 week I have 127 phone calls, of those 10 are wanted phone calls. I have been on the do not call list since 2006, I know what I did to get on the junk phone call list, I have tried all of the suggestions on here, came up with several of my own, that I have now read here as well. This is what I have decided to do.
I have had my number for at least 10 years, I want to keep it, so I have initiated a port of my number to google voice (which does have call screening by the way) once the port is done, I plan to get a new number for my iphone, no one will get this number, and I will cycle it every time I start getting unwanted calls on it. the carrier and apple seem to have no interest in helping in this situation, I don't know why, but I find it very frustrating.
I have been dealing with 5-20 calls a day for over 2 years now, and I just can't deal with it anymore. if anyone is interested I can report back my results after getting a new number.

Jul 12, 2016 12:18 PM in response to tazicusby Meg St._Clair,
I've found the easiest thing to do is not answer calls that aren't in my Contacts. I use Google Voice for my voice mail and have it set to text me with any messages that get left. Works well for me and no number changes were required. But, I've always, even since the days before answering machines, been of the opinion that, just because a phone rings, it doesn't mean I have to answer it.Any number you get will eventually get robo calls, either from unknown callers or spoofed numbers. The companies that make them probably don't pay too much attention to the Do Not Call list.

Jul 12, 2016 1:26 PM in response to tazicusby MLadd,Just an FYI... Apple has nothing to do with you getting unwanted calls. When they call, add them to the blocked list. I get calls all the time. I have had this number for 15 years. Never changed. I am also a contractor and work on 3 - 18 month contracts. I get a TON of calls all the time at least 5 a day (15-20 when I between contracts) from people looking to bring me in. 90% are BS jobs or projects where they never even looked at my skill set and just called me to get a warm body on the phone. I ignore them. Pressing the sleep/wake button silences the rings. Decline or Send to VM sends the call directly to VM. If it's someone who calls me repeatedly, and doesn't understand that I am not able or willing to work with them, I will eventually just block the number using the built in features in the iPhone that allows you to do this.
Changing your number and never giving it to anyone seems like the exact opposite of what you have been doing for 10 years. And porting it to GoogleVoice does nothing to deter the calls, besides sends the calls to Google Voice. So now you have to field ALL calls there to let everyone who needs to know that your new number has changed. You can send out a generic "number has changed" E-Mail, but make sure you don't miss anyone's call that may have had your number for the past 9 years and missed that E-Mail asking to change your number in their contacts (which their filter may have thought was junk mail...SWIDT? Never ending circle).
It's an unwanted phone call. If this is the worst problem you have, you're having a pretty good life. Just block it and move on. Sorry to be so short, but this isn't an overly complicated issue.

However, when I go to the details for the Unknown caller, there is nothing on the page and there is no copy function available. How does one do that?
