Hi -- I lost my iPod Nano 3rd generation, and replaced it with the 5th generation. The 5 only comes with a USB charger cable. Can I use the plug-in-to-the-wall cable I still have from my 3 to charge my 5? I'm afraid to try and see for myself, for fear of exploding my iPod or something. 🙂 Thanks.

Thank you so much for replying. It gave me the confidence to plug my iPod in to the wall ... but I got a message on its screen, "This device is not supported by this accessory." (For full disclosure -- in case it varies -- this is the cable with the wide end that goes into the iPod, and the firewire end that goes into the square block thing with the plug on it.) If it has firewire on one end it is not a 3rd Generation Nano cable.
