App updates not disappearing after updating

I definitely didn't have this problem before iOS 7: after I update an app on the App Store on my iPhone 5, the update doesn't go away. It will stay there with 'open' instead of 'update', but stays there for good. Any help?

I have the same problem. I believe they should go away too.

On Sept-18, release date, there were 10 to 15 updates on my apps. There was a notification in the Notifications. I then went into the App Store to see the complete list. Saw them, they all said OPEN and what not. Then once I acknowledge the notification in Notifications. They all disappear in the App Store. That was great.

But then on Sept-19 other apps updated. This time no notification what so ever. And the apps remain with OPEN, an other was updated on Sept-20 and it's still there too. No updates for Sept-21 and so far none for Sept-22. Which I find odd after such a major update.

Well, I've done every update since the iPhone 4 and seen all the complaints about battery life, how it works, etc and never ever had a problem. It seems to me that Apple just decided to OVERDO this new iOS 7; they changed so much stuff just for the sake of change. Who on earth needs to see their previous updates in the update apps section?

Greetings, iinami, I also had the same issue on my iPhone under iOS 7.0.4, but I found a solution to clear out those dozens of App's purchases which clutter the Updates' window, and they would not go away even after you had already opened the update.

This procedure worked on my iPhone, you may want to give it a try:

1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time;

2. Turn off "Set Automatically";

3. Click on your date and time (displayed in blue);

4. Set the Month/Year to a year from today (say: "Jan 26, 2015")

5. Exit Settings

6. Now check your App-Store Updates' status

Voila!

You can set your Date & Time back to "Set Automatically". Those Apps will not re-appear.

I have just found this out while I have not had an update since. So, I am not sure, but I have a felling that this will recur on my next update and the next, and so on.

This is either a bug or Apple has set the updated app to go away on a timer. What a waste of time for Apple and for us.

Perhaps Apple could use a little of "if it isn't broken don't fix it!".

I wish you success!

Apple put this feature in for the updated apps. Because before when there was an update. You, as the user could see what the new features were, what the bug fixes was for the app.

Now, Apple makes it so the apps are updated automatically. Great... However, if they left the "Updated" tab as it were. Meaning the app will disappear once the update was completed. Then you as the user won't know of any new features. So that $5.00 app that you bought a few months ago now has several new features, but you wouldn't know because you erased them from the update tap.
