Backing up Paper by FiftyThree from my iPad 2

Hi

I've got Paper by FiftyThree in my iPad 2. I was about to update to iOS7 when I saw the following message:

"Do you want to erase this ipad and sync with this iTunes Library?"

I cancelled the update before it started. I want to make sure I don't lose the journals I have in Paper by FiftyThree. I've done a backup in iTunes (on Windows 8.1 Preview, as my old Mac no longer works). Will I be able to restore my journals from this backup after I upgrade my iPad 2 to iOS 7?

Before I do the update I will export my journals as pdf files just to be safe. This is what I was advised to do on the FiftyThree help forums, and I was advised to check on these forums for more help. I really like using Paper by FiftyThree so I hope I can just import the journals from the iTunes backup.
