In previous versions of Safari, there was a dropdown menu from the Google search field showing recent searches. So far, I can't figure a way to find this functionality in the new Safari. Suggestions?
If this is gone completely, does anyone know if it is available in Chrome, or using Bing, or using any other browser?

Did you ever get your question solved? If not, first make sure that private browsing is disabled. Next, at the bottom of the screen where the back and forward arrows are, there is an icon for an open book. If you touch on that, your Safari history including any internet searches can be found there. Good luck!
