Q: IOS7 install: battery running out, how to turn off apps?

How do I turn off the apps for IOS7? My battery is running down SUPER fast. What else can I do to preserve the battery?

I used to be able to tap my center button twice and the apps would appear. You could hit the red x and close them. How do we close apps with new IOS7?

Double Tap the Home Button... Then swipe the App Upwards.

Do the same and instead of holding the app down swipe upwards, this will close down open apps.
