My ipad worked perfectly fine yesterday then I updated to ios7 now when I type my touch screen severely lags. Why? And why do I have to pay to have it serviced when its a result of the update?

Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
If the reset doesn't work, try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Thank you! The reset of all settings seems to have worked! It took over two hours to type in that question this morning. I am glad it seems to working back to normal now. Why would it have needed the reset though?

I tried forcing my iPad to reboot but that didnt fix the problem and I can't get into settings to reset all settings because my touchscreen doesn't work, argh!!! My iPad was working just fine before I upgraded to iOS 7, now I can't use it at all.
