Can 3rd Gen iPod touch download apps still?
Mum friend wants to get a 3rd gen iPod but can they still download apps due to iOS upgrades

Yes, only a few apps not require iOS 6 or later, A 3G can only go to iOS 5.1.1.
Just make sure you get a 3G iPod and not a 2G iPod. A 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1
