Q: AirDrop not finding

I installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5, and have been trying to use the AirDrop feature with my Mac Mini (OS X 10.8.5). They are on the same wifi signal, wifi and bluetooth is on for both. I have AirDrop set for Everyone on the iPhone. Everything seems to be set up correctly but the mac mini and iPhone don't find each other.

Anyone have any ideas why? I've been using a photo transfer app, but was looking forward to AirDrop when iOS 7 came out. I can't seem to make it work though.

Reading all the articles it appears tha AirDrop is only between tow Mac or between two iOS devices. Not between an iOPS device and a Mac.

Thanks lllaass. I hadn't seen any articles that said that in my searching, but since you mentioned it I was able to find plenty of articles. That's too bad.

You may want to look into Filedrop. It's works with Mac, PC, iOS, and Android, and it's MUCH easier to send and receive from all devices, wired or Wi-Fi.

Is it my impression or Apple is losing it on software performance? Are the days of plug and play gone?

The fact that Apple chooses not to make Airdrop work in one of the most logical contexts (Mac to iPhone) is ridiculous and arrogant.

AirDrop between iOS device an Mac is being added to Yosemite (OSX 10.10) due to be release next month (Oct)

OK her it is December and I still can't seem to get air drop to work from my iPhone to my iMac or verse visa ~ on my Iphone it says to go to AirDrop in the finder on a Mac but it still isn't showing a connection ~ very frustrating :-(
